Editorial role
Martin J. Calderwood is the editorial byline used for this site. The role is to turn common “how long?” questions into transparent planning methods: define scope, identify active and waiting time, expose assumptions, and show where local or product-specific requirements must take over.
The site does not present the author as a licensed engineer, lawyer, medical professional, contractor or other regulated specialist. When a topic requires that kind of authority, the content directs readers back to the appropriate professional, manufacturer, contract, code or public authority.
How calculator assumptions are chosen
Whenever a broadly applicable assumption would be misleading, the calculator asks the reader to provide the value. That is why the painting planner asks for an application rate and manufacturer-specified recoat time instead of embedding a supposedly universal speed or wait.
