What the calculator includes
The model adds one-time setup, repeated active work, one-time cleanup or handoff, a percentage buffer on active work and any fixed waiting time. Waiting time is not multiplied by the buffer.
When it works best
Use it for straightforward work where the active step is reasonably repeatable. For complex dependencies, use a project schedule instead.
Important distinction
The result is elapsed planning time, not a promise. If work occurs only during certain shifts or days, convert the hours into the actual calendar separately.
