Reserve the full block
An appointment can occupy more time than the scheduled meeting itself. Travel, parking, check-in, forms, waiting and follow-up errands can all affect when you are actually free again.
For important appointments, use the provider’s arrival instructions and current travel information. Do not shorten required check-in or preparation instructions based on a generic estimate.
Protect transitions
Back-to-back commitments assume the first event ends exactly on time and the next begins with no travel or reset. Adding a small transition between calendar blocks can make the schedule more resilient.
Where accessibility, transportation or caregiver arrangements are needed, represent those dependencies explicitly rather than hiding them inside a single appointment duration.
